Generally for a Arthroscopic Surgery, patients are discharged within 2 days of surgery while in case of Knee or Hip Replacement, they need to be in hospital for 4-7 days after surgery for medicines and physiotherapy sessions.
You can take a bath after the stitches are removed which is generally after 2 weeks of surgery.
Most patients need pain medicines for many days after surgery depending upon the type of surgery, and the pain tolerance of the patient. We recommend you use ice fomentation for about 10-15 minutes with at least one hour between applications.
Usually, patients expect that after a surgery, they will be perfectly fine in a few days. This is NOT what most people experience. Although some people feel much better right away, many people notice they are not back to normal for 6 to 8 weeks or more.
